How many charities and not-for-profit organisations are there in Australia? A few thousand, or several hundred? Have a guess.
In August 2015 SCCFA was successfully registered with the Australian Charity and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC).
This means SCCFA is now one of a minority of organisations in Australia that is registered with ACNC, according us GST exemption and income tax exemption.
According to the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Non-Profit Studies (ACPNS), there are approximately 600,000 charities and not-for-profit organisations in Australia alone.
However, only about 60,000, or 10%, are registered with the national charity regulator, ACNC, and SCCFA is proud to be one of the 10%.
Only charities that have been registered with ACNC, and lodged their annual information statements with the national regulator are issued with the charity tick which is a symbol of trust enabling donors to give with confidence.
